The Committee Records was founded by Jzavion Trea-Anthony McGowan, better known by his stage name, Jzavion, in August of 2018. TCR was formally known as Mittie Boy Entertainment from 2018-2020 before the name change that took place in 2021. The name TCR is adopted from the nickname given to the home state of Michigan, "The Mitten," in which the label is based. The label covers every aspect of art from music to fashion to videography.
